Grower FAQs
I am a farmer, how do I sell my products through your market?
Make an account at The Open Food Network, create an enterprise, add your products, and create permissions for your enterprise to allow the South Cumberland Farmers Market “add products to order cycle”. Get in touch with us for approval. You will need to be the counties we serve (Grundy, Marion, Franklin, Coffee), or get special approval from our board of directors.
Are there membership fees?
Growers are charged 4.5% of sales to compensate the market manager(s). The fee can be reduced to 3.5% by volunteering regularly. Membership to Rooted Here/SCFM is required to sell at the market. See the Growers Agreement contract for ways to satisfy the membership requirement.
Why should I sell through the SCFM?
Our market’s mission is to minimize costs and labor for growers by pre-selling your products via our online platform so you know exactly how much and what to bring to market on Tuesdays. We also boast a very low fee, 4.5%, to growers compared to other similar markets that charge anywhere from 10% - 20%.
